Pune, 11th July 2021: English Language Teaching Summit 2021, a virtual international conference was jointly organized by International Society for Educational Leadership (USA, Australia & India) and MIT Art, Design and Technology University, Pune, INDIA on Sat. 10th and Sun. 11th July 2021. The summit provided everyone with a platform to explore various aspects of teaching and learning English and acquire, adapt and apply new and innovative strategies to facilitate learners. Hon. N. Patil, Advisory Member, Dr. Tarun Patel, Dr. Atul Patil, Director, School of Holistic Development, MIT ADT University were present for the inaugural function.
Prof. Eric H. Roth said, “Language influences society and leads to transformation and innovation which has a huge impact on science and technology and other areas too.
The keynote speakers of the plenary sessions included Dr Salikoko S. Mufwene, University of Chicago, Dr Paul Thompson, University of Birmingham, Nik Peachey, United Kingdom, Eric H. Roth University of Southern California, Robert A. Filback, United States Brent Warner California,Dr. Meenalochana Inguva.
Luminaries from the English language and literature fraternity across the globe graced the occasion and chaired technical sessions during the conference, where more than 100 papers were presented. Two parallel paper presentation sessions along the plenary sessions were another highlight of the conference in which distinguished personalities articulated their views, opinions, and experiences with erudite and expert comments. The participants from the USA, UK, Australia, Canada, the UK, India, and several other countries made this conference a success.
Prof. Tejas Karad, Project Director, Institute of Design, MITADTU graced the valedictory ceremony as chief guest. He said, “The English language is a lingua franca, and it can be mastered for better understanding of the trade, businesses, cross-cultural aspects worldwide and MIT ADT University ensures that linguistic competency of students is enhanced through its programmes like B.A. (Hon.) English, Ph.D. in English and other relevant activities”. All other members from ISEL and MIT ADT University graced the valedictory function.
It was a learning experience as the participants heard well-known dignitaries from the field of language and literature share their knowledge and thoughts. They were reassured that literature and language have the power to cross boundaries and build bridges to knit society. The conference was coordinated by Dr. Atul Patil, Director, School of Holistic Development and Programme Head, School of Humanities, MIT ADT University.
